The Forest Path

Tempest padded through the errily misshapen trees until he happened upon the wolf he had heard earlier.
"Hello," he said quietly, unsure if she was friend or foe.

Shatter nodded. "okay. what do you want to know from me?"

"How did you get on Bane's bad side?" asked Quicksilver, curoius.
"And how ever did you escape his clutches?" added Dawn, stepping forward. "I am Dawn, one of the Sisters of Old." She stated porudly.

'Taboo rolled her eyes at Shatter before sitting in a regal manner, attempting not to insult the wolf.

Dusk gave Fern a glare before also sitting delicately beside her sister, whom still stood, the essence of grace.

Fern gave Dusk a side-glance before sighed loudly. "Always on everyone's bad side....' She thought, not noticing her face changed from that of a proud young she-wolf to a broken loner who didn't know what to do.

Dusk noticed this change. She was an observer, for she usually let Dawn do the talking, with her mystically mind-grabbing voice. Dusk was the ugly one, the evil one, the corrupted sister. Rarely was she spoken to, and always in a hostile manner. She was not loved, like Dawn, she was hated. Not creation, but destruction. Her cold gray eyes turned colder, if that was possible, and, as she was next to Fern, she said aloud,
"At least you're good looking." She hadn't meant to say it, and regretted it afterwards, but was at least spared the mortification of Dawn hearing. Dawn was confident, but has some low self esteem issues. She was a looker, not a fighter, and couldn't hold her own in a fight against a hare. She was the clever one, the schemer, and Dusk was only the dreamer, the fighter.

Fern looked up at Dusk. "...." She had nothing to say. She was sure she couldn't even if she wanted to. Her ears pinned back in surprise, she nuzzled the fellow she-wolf kindly.

"Gaaah!" Lunar fell backwards, "Heh.. Hi.." She looked around and only saw one wolf.

"i dont know, it might be part of my family heritage or something. An old family story of mind says that my grandfather or something tried to kill bane forever." Shatter sat, feeling quite awkward. "i dont quite remember how i escaped, i was in the dungeon, and a strange figure just let me loose. he said to just run as fast as i could out, and here i am."

Neon looked at Dawn and Dusk and frowned

"Interesting..." replied Quicksilver, thinking hard, her brows furrowed. She let out a gasp, her gray-blue eyes sparkling. "You're a desendant of -insertnamehere-!?" She knew the story well, for naturally Effil had told her of the fables and legends that shrouded the spirit realm, and the wildly dashing tale of -insertsamename- had always left her in awe.

"yes. Sea was my grandfather, supposedly." Shatter clenched her teeth.

Dusk stared at Fern, wide-eyed. Only her sister had ever dare touch her sickly looking fur voluntarily. The shewolf suddenly cracked a small smile, a pretty one, and her eyes lit up in a way that had never been before.

"This day just keeps getting weirder and weirder," sighed Quicksilver.

Fern smiled, eyes sparkling with a kindness and joy not ever seen in her pupil-less eyes.

A small note in Dusk's heart lifted; she had never had a friend other than her sister before; no one could stand the sight of her. She tried, really, but it was her way. She was the ugly one, the brutal one....Dawn was so lucky.

The other she-wolf, whom had been watching Shatter, now turned to look at her sister and felt a slight pang go through her for some reason she couldn't really tell. The sisters had a kind of telepathy, and she could feel a certain...something in Dusk had changed...

Fern smiled again as her tail tapped Dusk's shoulder sympathetically, before nuzzling her once more.

"So, Fern is it?" asked Dusk, looking over the she-wolf once more. She seemed utterly ferocious but beautiful at the same time, and Dusk immediatly admired her.

"Yup. And I do believe you're Dusk?" She said with a bloody grin, eyes glittering with new found happiness.

Neon walked over to Silver and whispered, "What about the plan?"

Lunar crawled deeper in the bush, hoping Tempest wouldnt follow her.

Raph watched the goings on with interest. not saying much but occasionally nodding in agreement to a few comments made by the others.

River sighed and sat at the edge of the pond, Where did everyone go? she thought.

[Poor RIVER!]

Quicksilver grinned, turning to Mac.
"Oh, this is MUCH better than what I had in mind. A descendent of Sea, well I'd never thought I'd see the day..." she turned back to Shatter.
"I'm a spirit guardian." she said simply.
