The Forest Path

His nose twitched as he was overcome by all the different scents. "...Do none of you have a pack?" he asked cautiously, hoping that none of them would correct him with a claw in the eye, or some other violent way. Then he heard one of the newer females requesting a hunting partner. His tail wag slightly and he stood up as his stomach growled, "More than happy to." he smiled as he stood up and trotted over to the stream as well.

"Thanks! Come over here and make the fish swim towards me!" She said with her tail wagging. "Oh and I did have a pack, but now I am on my own, searching for a mate or another pack to join, what about you?" She asked with curiosity gleaming in her blue eyes.

"Well," he began, slowly taking a few paces away from her so that he could properly scare the fish towards her, "I sort of...got kicked out of my pack. They said that I wasn't useful." he seemed to whimper out the last word. "So I'm out here, thinking of how," and he smacked his paws down hard as he jumped into the stream, scaring the fish into quickly swimming towards the female, "to get back in..." Then he looked up, "I'm Leaf, by the way."

She barely had time to react but she knocked the fish up in the air with her paw and caught it in her mouth, she closed her jaws tight, instantly killing the fish. Then she looked up with her crystal blue eyes and said, "Useful? they don't think you are useful?!" She said raising her voice on the last few words. "Well if you weren't here I wouldn't have been able to catch this fish! Who do they think they are?! You are very useful to me, and don't forget it. I would suggest to start out on your own now, I would hate to go back into a pack like that! Do what I do, I'm a loner looking for a new pack and watching whatever nature brings me!" She said with a smile. Then she walked over to Leaf and said, "My name is Mac, nice to meet you. Would you like to head half or the tail half of the fish?"

There were two woods each marked by their own loners as different territory, Feyrah's and Silver's. Feyrah, Silver had heard, was a kinder wolf, and, as Silver had spent some days spying on her neighber, wuite an odd wolf. She seemed to spend her time in trees. Silver, having many memories but no memory of treed-wolves, spent another first few days in her wood trying to climb a tree, which resulted in many bruises on her flanks. However, that had been quite some time ago, as now Silver was a ripe age of four [human years, I forget the conversion] and she had lived alone in her wood for a good chunk of her life. She padded silently through the gray trees that marked the outskirts, watching a little less than joyfully as silence was returned. Sure, there were birds that sang and incects that chirped, even a few rustles of prey in the underbrush, but Silver craved for the melodic sound of wolves. Of a howl or a bark, even perhaps a growl. She once had a pack, as she had once had a family, brothers and sisters even! But, alas, it was all gone. She was marked, on her ears and her left foot, as what the alpha had called the 'devil's mark', and had been banished. For some time she had wandered across many barren plains, until coming across...no, she would not think of him.
"Fell," she whispered, and, quite miraculously, a tear fell from one gray-blue eye. She shook her head and proceeded talking to herself while completing rounds.
"All I need is a good wolf or two to keep me company, a mate and a few cubs wouldn't be bad. A pack, I admit, is too much to ask for, but some simple company, even a neigh..." She had ended up at the edge of territories, between Silver's wood and Forest Path, "....bor."

And that was when she decided it was time for her to trespass and actually meet her neighbor.

Mac turned and noticed the stranger heading up "another?" she thought to herself.....she looked at the others to see if they had seen her as well.

Silver's nose crinkled as the aroma of others hit her. There were females and males both, and she wondered for a moment whether her neighbor had gotten together a pack whilst Silver had been hidden deep within her own territory. She loped nearer and nearer, suddenly confident, and noticed two wolves standing near the river, and verious others close by.
"Seems like a pack to me," she thought bitterly. Now on the opposite riverbank to the wolves, she barked a greeting.

"Er, hello there. Greetings. I'm er, from the neighboring territory." She mentally chided herself for sounding like a desperate pup but kept a straight, hopefully-welcolming face with a slightly serious tinge to her eyes.

"Well hi!" Mac said with no worries in her voice. "My name is Mac! What brings you here?" She said smiling as she started to sip up more water.

Raphael watched as the one who called himself Leaf helped Mac catch a fish, he would've helped but they seemed capable, he turned as another new wolf entered the area, she was a beautiful colour of grey, he stood at once and padded over to her, he bowed slightly in welcome and respect, "Hello, My name is Raphael, what is your name?, if I may be so bold" he added with a kind smile. He looked into her eyes, she had a level head, he could see from the serious look she wore on her face, though it was well hidden, he saw it as it was a look he often wore himself when greeting others.

Mac looked around at all the wolves in the area and said, "Hey, we all don't have packs right?" She finally stopped waiting for the other wolf to answer and she ate the tail half of the fish leaving the head part in front of the other wolf to eat. She walked over with the tail dangling from her mouth. "Why don't we......make a pack together? I would really like that....its what I have been searching for!" She said while looking at all the other wolves reactions.

Silver's blue-gray eyes sparkled as another wolf padded over, she watched him slightly, keeping most of her view on Mac.
"Nice to meet you Mac," she said politely, keeping the slight serious edge to her tone, "I'm Quicksilver, and my original, er, lodgings are in a place known as Silver's wood, which is just over that rise..." She nodded her head towards whence she had come from. With a turn of her head a mischevious tone to her voice, she added, "But friends call me Silver. Or rather they would if I had any." She glanced up at Feyrah, who was once again in a tree, and nodded aknowledgement.
"Long time no see," she stated towards her, "I was beginning to think you'd actually fallen out of one of these trees and did some damage." No challenge in her tone, just a light, poking-fun edge Silver hadn't heard in a long, long time. It was nice to converse with others. However, even she knew where to draw the line of fun, serious, and cautious, so kept her purpose of finding a mate or pack silent, intent of listening instead to the other wolves.

A brown female wolf had been watching the wolf gathering from afar, staying her distance. She didn't want to get too close or she thought they would chase and attack her for intruding. So she lay there, chewing on a stick watching their movements and listening intently to their conversation, ears darting back and forth.

"Heh. I won't fall off, no need to worry." A little blue bird had found its place on her back. She glanced at it, but unlike every other wolf, she just smiled and continued talking. "So, who's up for the pack?

"Don't worry, I can't even climb trees." Mac said looking up at Feyrah. "Actually I never tried and probably never will, I'm just not the tree climbing type.." She looked at the bird on Feyrah's back wondering why she didn't catch it, but she knew why.
She smiled and said to Silver, "Well now you do have a friend who will call you Silver!"
"Oh I would love to join! But what should we call ourselves?" Make blurted out so all the others could hear.

Hmm.. I don't know really. My part of the woods is called Myr, any suggestions?"

"The Myr pack? Nah..That sounds funny....we need something brave, bold, and majestic souning!" Mac said with a dance.

"I didn't think of that! That sounds great, Wolves of Myr...I like it!" She said with a smile. "Does everyone else like it?" She looked at all the other wolves around waiting for their reply.

The Red wolf yawned deeply before standing up.She had listened to the whole conversation while she was laying under a nearby tree.''I think it sound cool''she said while walking past some other wolves.

The brown wolf's ears darted from wolf to wolf, 'Ahh,' she thought 'they just created their pack.' She shrugged, and continued to listen, watch, and chew on the stick.

Silver balked. So soon, a pack? Would they soon find she was not useful, non-productive, or some other oddity and ban her like before? Would she be a bane to them? She shivered slightly and debtaed silently whether or not she would head back to her own territory.
"How about something along the lines of the shadows of silver myr?"she blurted out suddenly, surprised at her own self. Running with it, Silver continued, "because if we combine both territories that'll be both names. Silver because of the gray trees in one territory and Myr because that is an amazingly mysterious name? But I like Wolves of Myr too. Very catchy." She added, trying to regain some serious stature.

Leaf's whole pelt tingled as Mac suggested that they created a pack, and he hoped that, just maybe, he might have influenced the inquiry somehow. But if he hadn't, that still would have been just fine with him. He didn't answer straight away, though. Instead, he ate the half of the fish that was left for him. Once he was finished eating, the others had spoken more on the subject (as well as one or two other things), and he finally voiced his opinion, "Well I'd be happy to be a wolf of Myr." his lips somehow curled into a small, happy smile, and his tail thumped on the ground lightly once or twice. And then he brought up a question that he thought he shouldn't have as soon as it had escaped his jaws, "Who're the alphas?"
