The Forest Path

Drunin howled in pain. "FERN!"

Fern stood, eyes still changing to their former state. "Drunin? You..... YOU LEFT ME!" She cried before leaped on top of Raphael and pushing him back, signaling this was her fight.

Raph backed away, growling.

Quicksilver was at Raphael's side instantly.
"Fern has brought danger with her," she commented, watching Mac and Tempest on the outskirts of the fight, "Perhaps we were wrong to allow her entrance, but at this point, we must help her." She was slightly tired of fighting after yesterday and the dream realm, and she knew that everyone was starving.

"I wasn't," replied Tempest, "I didn't inherit any of my father's abilities." However, the black wolf still charged at Rarinr, stormy blue eyes bright with anger.
"You get away from my mate!" he shouted, leaping onto his back legs and bringing his body down on the wolf's back.

Wolfish and River watched intently from afar.
"Maybe we should come back later," said River, which snapped Wolfish out of her staring. She turned back to the other female. "Maybe..." she agreed, and then headed back.

"Agreed" Raph said gruffly, "It's scary being around so many wolves that can attack me without touching me" he said distantly.

Silver smiled at him symathetically, and then a grave thought crossed her mind.
"You're not...afraid of ME, are you?" she asked before she could hold herself back.

Fern snarled and leaped at Drunin. "I hate you brother. I hate Rarinr too. I hate Thorn. I hate the life I had." She said simply, her paws pinning her sibling to the ground. "Which is why you die, for all the pain and suffering you have given me." She growled, ripping at his throat.

Drunin gave a gurgling scream, but was cut short as he passed.

Tempest still faught with Rarinr, trying to pin her or to knock her unconcious, for it was not a good thing to kill unless attacked outright.

Rarinr snarled deeply, but fell quickly to the ground.

Thorn howled and leaped at Fern.

Fern turned gracefully. "Die." She snarled, raising sharpened claws, ducking, so her daggers would slip easily into his belly.

THorn cried and fell, tumbling in the dirt. Then, he lay there, a dead bloody heap of dusty fur.

Mac ran around Tempest to see if any were left, and if there were she challenged them with open jaws.

Raph's eyes widened at the question but was quickly replaced with a loving smile, "Of course not, the only ones that need fear you are our enemies" he answered truthfully as he reordered his thoughts, he nuzzled her reassuringly and watched Fern's gruesome work as she killed one wolf after the other.

Fern ceased. Drunin and Thorn were dead.Now for Rarinr. She loped gracefully to where her sister sat. She whispered in her ear, "Goodbye, sister." She bit the wolf's back, grinning at the gruesome snap it made. Rarinr gasped, and went limp in Fern's jaws.

Mac relaxed and sat down, and yawned as if nothing had happened

Tempest, a cut on his muzzle, sneezed and blinked rapidly as pain throbbed slightly around it. The dark wolf sat next to Mac and gave her a half-smile.
"I'm starving." he commented.

Quicksilver, whom smiled warmly at her mate, stepped over the dead wolves and to Fern.
"We'll eat after we remove the bodies," she decreed, "I have plenty of kill back in the meadow. I'll show you. Let's...put these over the border. Fern, you take Rarinr. Tempest and Mac will take Drunin, and Raphael and I will take Thorn. Be gentle, but not gracious."

"If you don't mind," Fern said weakly, "Could I take Thorn?"
Her maw was a bright crimson red, reminding herself of when she first met these wolves.

Mac nodded and licked Tem's muzzle, "feeling better?"

"Yes," he replied, licking her on the cheek.

Quicksilver did not blink.
"I would rather you take Rarinr," she replied, not forcefully, but with authority.

Fern nodded. "Okay." She said, emitting a low growl as she gripped Rarinr's dead form in her jaws.
Not at Quicksilver, but to her sister, and herself.

Raph gave Silver an odd look, he didn't really understand why the alpha had not let Fern carry her dead mate but said nothing and heaved Thorn's limp form across his back.

"So who will we take?" Mac asked

"Drunin," replied Tempest, hefting the dead wolf onto his back. Quicksilver pulled half of Thorn's body onto her own and walked with Raphael, in sync perfectly.
"I am still alpha of this pack," she said quietly, "And I must show Fern that she is under our order now."

Fern dragged Rarinr, not bothering to heave her dead sister. "Stupid mother. Stupid father. Stupid brother. Stupid sister." She snarled lowly. She repeated it a couple of times and stopped, tears streaming down her white and red face.

Mac walked by Tempest's side, she kept an eye on him and an eye out for danger.

Wolfish and River were headed towards the den, but Wolfish made a different turn. "Wolfish... where are we going?" she asked.
"Ahh... I dunno. I was getting thirsty, and I thought you should see our meeting place." Wolfish smiled at the wolf and continued on through the forest.

Raph nodded solomnly, "I understand..." he said as he watched their paws moving perfectly in time.
