The Forest Path

Fern walked silently, a wispy look on her narrow face as memories that had been blocked out ages ago flooded back to her mind.

"sure, whatever." Shatter began to follow quicksilver, looking behind her at the others.

Lunar saw Shatter and Quiksilver, she padded towards them and asked, "Whats you names? Im Lunar!"

River padded into the forest and walked with her head down. I wish I could help them... she thought.

A brown dog looked over her shoulder, carrying a piece of meat from a deer. Oh, god. They're coming! she thought as she darted through the forest, nearly running into trees on the way. She could hear them barking and growling at her, they were getting closer. She looked back to see them, it was true, they were getting much closer.

River heard some barking, and as she lifted her head to see what it was, a brown blur ran straight into her, knocking her off of her feet. River immediately scrambled up and stood on all fours again. She looked at the dog on the ground.

The dog had dropped her piece of meat when she ran into the wolf and picked it up. She stood on her feet and looked back. Then she focused on River. "You might want to run if you want to live." she said and burst off into a sprint.

River's eyes widened. There was a large pack of wolves, heading straight for them. River bolted off and followed the dog. "What do they want?!" she asked.

The dog glanced over at River, "They want their prey back." the dog looked ahead and dodged a tree.

River noticed the dog dodge the tree and she did the same, almost too later. "You stole it?!" River assumed.

The dog didn't seem to acknowledge what River had said at first. "Look," she said. "The name's Wolfish, and yes, I stole this from them. But they're always giving me a hard time." Wolfish peered back at the pack of wolves. "I'm running short on food, having to fend for myself out here, so I took theirs." she said.

"And they're mad at you for just that?!" River exclaimed, she had just almost tripped on her own feet, but quickly began running normally again.

"I had some help. That's not all I stole." Wolfish said. "Enough questions. Let's just focus on losing these guys." she finished, taking another glance over her shoulder at them.

After a while of running, Wolfish and River had managed to escape the wolves. Wolfish dropped the piece of meet at her feet, "Man... I thought we'd never lose them..." she panted heavily.

"Yeah..." River exhaled and sat down.

Wolfish looked around, tongue lolling, and picked up her piece of meet. She turned and started walking in a different direction. "C'mon!" she called over to River.

"What?! So I can't even sit down for a minute?!" River exclaimed.

"Oh, hold your horses. We'll be sitting for plenty time soon enough." Wolfish grinned. River followed Wolfish to an abandoned wolf den. As Wolfish walked in, she threw her meat in a corner. It now lay on a pile of fresh deer meat. "What's you're name?" Wolfish asked River.

"River," she replied.

"Well, River... I'd like you to meet my little 'entourage'..." Wolfish grinned. "Lancey, Andy, and John."

"Hey," Lancey lazily half-smiled.

"Hi," Andy smiled.

"'Allo!" John grinned.

"Well, hi!" River smiled.

Shatter felt somewhat nervous. "im shatter." she smiled. "do you know a way out of here? any way at all?"

"Quicksilver," replied Lunar, looking from the female to Tempest, whom just shrugged his shoulders.
"We've been talking to River," he quickly filled her in on all the details, and after which she returned information of Shatter to both Raph and him.
"What do you make of her?" Tempest asked, glancing towards the newcomer.
"I don't know," the female replied...

Fern stepped forward, so she was in Tempest's and Silver's conversation. "I've heard stories of Sea. If anything, one of his descendants must be like me." She whispered softly.

Raph smiled at Shatter, "hi Shatter, my name's Raphael, nice to meet you" he said before turning to Silver, "well at least our little army has more members now, do you know where to find Bane?" he asked, eager to leave this strange place.

Mac walked back over to Tem and watched him closely

River walked in further and lay down. She set her head on the ground.

John looked around and then got up. He headed towards the exit and said, "I'll be back, I'm gonna look for some more food."

Wolfish nodded at him and then looked over at Lancey he was blabbering off with Andy. She rolled her eyes and then looked down at River. "You tiered?" she asked, surprised.

"Well, duh," River almost laughed, "We've been running and walking for such a long time."

Wolfish burst out with laughter. "You amaze me," she said and looked out of the exit, as a squirrel ran by.

"What?" River said, I amaze her? What is that supposed to mean? she thought.

"You get tiered SO easily," Wolfish giggled.

"Whatever..." River said and then turned her attention the the pile of kill.

[yay wolfish! and YAY MAC! I missed you guys toooo gosh its been BORING!]


Quicksilver looked at Fern keenly.
"I dunno.... Sea was supposed to have had a streak of peace within him...something tells me Shatter has her story straight."
"And? You've got something brewing," replied Tempest, licking Mac's cheek as she walked up to him but keeping his stormy blue orbs on his 'sister'. Silver gave him a wink before turning to Raphael.
"No, I don't know the exact whereabouts of Bane's castle, but I've got a feeling Shatter can lead us there."

Fern smiled evily. "Whatever you say." She said, a deviant look in her eyes as she padded back to Dusk.

Mac smiled happily, and returned the lick

"sure, its not so far... theres nothing really else in this wasteland." Shatter frowned again, "ill only lead you so far, then tell you the rest of the way, theres no way im going all the way back." she turned to Raph. "how did you guys get in? id like to leave this place, ill wait for you at the entrance.

Raph smiled, "Thank you and Silver got us in so it'd be best for you to wait for us to return" he said slowly, realising that, in fact, they may not return at all. He didn't feel scared, just sad, he had only just got with Silver, his mate and had hoped to have pups before he died. The wolf licked Silver's muzzle, smiling weakly, he then pushed this thought away and his expression turned to thoughtful confidence.

John walked along and sat down in the forest. After sitting there for a while, he began to see some shadows run around the forest. "Oh, god.. it's them." he grinned.

Wolfish, Lancey, and Andy's ears all twitched. "Let's go," she said and they all ran out of the den.

"Wait, were are you guys going?" River asked and ran after them. None of them replied.

The shadows silently crept around the forest. Then Wolfish and the others arrived. "They're baa-aacck." John joked, wide-eyed.

"Oh, shut up." Wolfish grinned and then watched the shadows move about.

River stood there, stunned. It was them. "You know these guys too?" she asked.

"Oh, yeah, it's not like we only stole from one back." Lancey partially laughed.

"Well..?" John said, staring blankly at the shadows. They weren't doing anything but moving around, they weren't attacking them, they weren't chasing them, in fact, they didn't seem to be interested in them at all.

Fern growled as she began to limp heavily once more. "Lilysong!" She howled, her stance changing from nonchalant to ferocious and cruel.

A white wolfess padded from the under growth from where Fern was pointing a calm, sarcastic look on her maw. Violet purple eyes shimmered with challenge as her vision rested on Fern. "Ah, Fern! Its been some ages, hasn't it?" She said cheerfully.

Fern glared. "I'm shocked you even made it past orientation." She snapped.

[Just so ou all know, Lilysong was in Fern's pack when they were pups. They were best friends, but utter opposites. So yeah. BAD THING FOR LILEH. xD]

"Why dont you stay?" Lunar asked Shatter, tilting her head.

"um... bane has probably sent his menions out to fnd me alrerady, theres no way im going back. once i escort you ill wait for you here, if theres an emergency, all of you howl." Shatter sat down and itched her ear. "you wanna go now?"

"Uhmm, sure?'' Lunar smiled and stood up,
