Comet Mountain

"IceFire, you really need to respect her opinions." Peirce said calmly, then she turned to Melia, "And you missy, you need to show respect to the older wolves. I dont want to hear of you getting into trouble again."

Melia stared down at the ground,"Sorry mommy, sorry Icefire."

Peirce frowned and walked away.

Melia felt as if she had a spot light pointing on her in a dark enclosed room as peirce walked away unhappy,It's all my fault. I'm just a big mess-up. That's why my real mommy left me, no doubt about it...a tear streamed down her face as she slowly walked into a cave, unaware it wasn't a wolf cave, but a bear cave. She disappeared into the shadow of the cave.

Icefire mumbled a sorry, then hopped up on a thick, low, branch, and just spotted Melia dissapere into the bear cave "Shoot! I got to get to her before the bear dose.." she got up and scrambled off the tree, lopeing swiftly into the cave after her.

Melia saw a large figure ahead,"H-hello? Is this someone's den?"

"Melia! This is a bear cave!!" she ran up behind the pup, and grabbed her in her maw, turning and dashing toward the entrance.

The bear awoke to the yelling a roared a angry, hungry roar.

Melia shrieked in fright,"Faster it woke up!"

Icefire went into a sprint, and dashed out of the cave. The bear followed, but stopped at the edge, turning around. Icefire let Melia down at her paws "Are you alright?" she asked, panting.

Melia trembled as she watched the bear leave. She was so scared that when she tried to answer she couldn't talk!

Icefire picked her up gently in her maw, and walked into a calm part of the woods. There was a huge willow tree. She walked over under it, and sat down in the shade. The place was silent, and there was a nice bedding of moss under Melia. The air was filled with the sent of prey, and wood *This should be a good place for her to recover from the bear, and mabey we can talk. There might be something we dont know about her mother leaving her...* she thought "Melia. Are you hurt?" she asked again, but calmer.

Melia looked down,"No. I think you should have left me there. My mom left me so that has to mean something. What if i wasn't supposed to be born? What if I did something horrible and don't remember?"

Rush rose his head at the sound of a bear roar that shook the forest. Only slightly concerned he lay his head back down.

Peirce was laying in the cave and didnt bother to get up.

"Everything happens for a reson. Listen, its gonna get bad before it gets good, so if I were you, be more confident in yourself, it'll turn out alright" she nudged Melia "Hey, I've been alone all my life until about a week ago, when I met this pack. Now, let me tell ya, I was MISRABLE. I didn't think life all together was that great, but when I joined the pack, everything changed." she paused thoughtfully for a long time "Think about that.....but now, lets get you back to the den." she smiled, and pulled her up by her scruff.

Melia whimpered,"Yeah but there aren't any other pups to play with. And none to be friends with."

Peirce saw Melia and IceFire, "Well, one of the wolves is pregnant. You can play with the younger ones in a couple weeks."

Melia smiled,"Okay!"

Icefire smiled "Yeah, theres something for ya to do!" she bounded off, and walked into the den. She layed down, and thoght for awhile about her day.

Melia sat down and played with the dirt,"I can't wait!"

Inertia was lazing in the sun in a feild of tall grass, reveling every moment to himself. he watched a ladybug make its acent up a tall blade of grass.

Peirce looked back at Inertia and smiled shyly, knowing he wasnt even looking.

Icefire looked around, and spotted something in the bushes "Hmm, whats that?" she asked herself, and got up, sniffing it. It was a dead mountian lion "Woah...how could something kill this thing..it looks like it got falayed.." she muttered. It was coated with fresh blood, and scars were all over its body. THe kill was fresh.

Peirce sniffed the air, "We never assigned a hunt, who killed something?" Peirce looked around and saw IceFire standing there, "Hey, whats th--"She stared at the dead animal and her mouth dropped open.

"I....I know...I dont know what happened.." she mumered "But whatever killed it, killed it like we would a mouse. Peirce, it was BIG." she sounded scared, but the exspression on her face was unredable.
