Cattle Drive - the life of a cattle dog

"idunno, maybe cuz you foxes steal the livestock that we live to protect. you mean that kind of cruelty?" she looked at the fox with a sarcastic look on her face.

"Well, amybe its because you never bothered to wonder what our lives are like." She said simply, matching SOH's sarcastic gaze.

"well MAYBE we need our livestock to survive and you are taking our survival away from us. theres other food in the forest besides our animals." SOH wasnt looking at feather at all, she looked toward the barn and spoke.

"Like what?" Feather whispered.

Jane finished her meal and padded towards the two canines, listening to their conversation with amusement alight in her hazel eyes, not saying a word.

Oreo sat down and muttered, "I guess I'll never be a cattle dog..."

Buttercup walked up to him, "Why would you think that?"

SOH snarled, "DEER, BIRDS, BERRIES, whatever you foxes eat natually." SOH leaned away from Feather and looked her in the eye.

"No one will teach me...I don't know..." Oreo sighed, he knew that making others feel bad for him was a childish thing.

"Well, Its because everyone has been so busy. So much has been going on with the foxes." Buttercup sighed.

"I know...couldn't we all just live together? Without fighting? Or any of that stealing, to? Bah, I don't know what I'm saying....it'll never happened." Oreo said

"well, Feather wants to be a herding dog now. Which I think is crazy." ButterCup shook her head

"Really?" Oreo asked with a bit of hope in his eyes, "That would be great!" He said happily and jumped up from his slumped over position.

Buttercup sighed, "Shell never get used to it, she will just want to EAT them."

a drop of drool fell from ripleys mouth as he stood behind buttercup. "yea." he agreed.

"Things can change!" Oreo said quickly

Buttercup got suprised and looked behind her, a bit splot of drool landed on her back.

Oreo turned his head and studied the forest for a while.

"Shorry" Ripley slurped the spit in his mouth.

".... Its okay." Buttercup shook off the spit.

Sebastian walked up to Feather, "so you want to be a herder eh?" he asked, with a kind smile as he sat just in front of the smaller canine.

SOH looked at seb with interest, wondering what he would say.

Feather smiled at the experienced dog. "Yeah, I do. Its a pleasure, by the way. I hope we can put what has recently occured behind us." She yipped, red eyes sparkling with hope.

"Sebastion!" called Jane, padding up to them. "I need to speak with you. Privately." She seemed ever so serious, her tail held high like a banner of authority.

SOH gave a smug smile, glad that seb wasnt going to get a chance to teach this traitor.
