"Gee...Thanks..." Daisy said looking at the ground

Max looked up and stood back with a smile, drying his eyes, "you really mean it?" he asked. Then he turned to Daisy, "I would love to stay with you, it's just I wish SOH would be there with me aswell" he said with a smile at both her and Sherbert. Max's face then fell, "but..you want to go back, don't you?" he said to SOH.

Sherbert looked at Max, "Yes, she would go back. But she wants to stay with you even more."

Daisy sighed

Max's face turned cold, "then you should go back" he said to SOH.

Shebert stepped backward in suprise.

Max felt horrible, but he wanted what was best for SOH and couldn't let her live somewhere she didn't want to, for him.

"no max. I don't care, as long as I'm with you." she smiled. the real reason was that she didn't trust daisy and feather to watch over her baby, but she didn't dare say.

Sherbert smiled down at Max, "See? She would rather be with you."

Max growled, "well I don't want to be with you!" he shouted, "GO BACK!" he snarled.

Sherbert's mouth gaped open, "MAX!? WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?"

Daisy sighed, she knew she shouldn't get involved and she knew Max didn't mean what he said but she stayed quiet anyway.

SOH's heart sunk, she looked at him. "max... what? i want to stay here, i want to be where you are. i dont think i could live a day without seeing you." SOH choked.

Sherbert still had her mouth gaped open. She stared at Max in disbelief.

"cmon max. i want to be with you, dont say that." she walked toward him.

Max backed up and growled, this time it was less fierce, "but...you can't" he said, defeated, he was tired and sore.

"Why!?" Sherbert asked out of sadness.

"why not? the only reason i wanted to go back was because i thought you did too." SOH looked at him.

Max finally gave up as his tired legs gave way and he layed awquardly down, "i'm so tired.." the adolescent said, his eyelids drooping heavily.

"lets find someplace to sleep." SOH lifted max to his feet.

Sherbert nodded and followed

Max nodded and yawned, "okay" he said and followed SOH.

SOH got up and found a huge tree, the roots making a good shelter. "this seems like a good spot." she lay down in a blanket of pine needles.

Sherbert followed and layed next to SOH, she smiled and got comfortable.

Max plodded over and snuggled upto SOH's warm fur, a contented smile on his face, "I changed my mind..." he whispered as he closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep. It had been a tiring day.
