let's get stuff kicked off here... first post a picture of your herding dog character and a discription of him/her

of course! actually, dingoes were belived to be ancient herding dogs brought over by settlers in australia, so she counts.

hey, do you mind if I use a fox, my foxy fox male named Fell to be sort of a mischevious opponent towards the herding dogs?

here is my chracter, Fell, and here's a small description:

Fell had lived beside [where ever we are] in the small wood. he had once also had a family that had lived with him, but his mother and father were killed by the farmers, and his once-baby sister had grown and moved away towards the more dense part of the forest, hoping to find a mate. So Fell, alone, was a loyal fox, if he had anyone to be loyal too. At night he stole into the barn to hunt mice when food was scarce, and every once and a while got so bold to steal a sheep or piglet or chicken. But not often enough for the farmer to put a price on his head, no, he knew he was starving, as prey became more and more scarce each moon, but he knew things would be even worse than hunger if the humans set their dogs on him...

ok, i guess we can start now...


The brisk morning sent streams of sunlight onto the sheep feild, their loyal guardian, SOH an australian shepherd proudly examined her loyal servants. they were grazing happily, when the skittish sheep ran to one corner of the feild at one time, she immediatley knew something was terribly wrong. she looked from her perch on an overlooking hill, a body was moving it's way through the feild...

Fell slumped to the ground, his back cracking a twig as it hit. He jumped up immediately, shaking the dust off of his once-glossy red and black coat. Emerald eyes scanned for the source of the noise, until he noticed he stood on the ground and not on the uncomfortable, usually-cold rock that was is sleeping place. She licked his chops, his drool moistening underused fangs as a whiff of sheep-scent caught in his nose. he sniffed towards it hopefully and then huffed, eyebrows furrowed, and growled at himself.
"Pull yourself together Fell!" he said, shaking again. His fur rippled pitifully over bones that stood out prominently, he hadn't had a proper meal in suns, moons even. Those acursed sheepdogs were enough to keep him away from the farm most often, though some nights when hunger overtook intelligence and he ran on pure instinct to the barn to the sheep, or the pigs, or the chickens, or even the barn mice the lazy and rather fat barn cats were too bored to catch. He slumped to the ground again, his dulled green eyes closing slightly as he fought off a fit of exhaustion again, shivering slightly even though it was a warm morning.

"It's that damned FOX again!" SOH bolted from her perch and ran full speed toward the dirty animal. "GET AWAY FROM MY SHEEP!" SOH barked as she dug her teeth into the bony fox.

(I don' t have a pic of my character, actually I am going to make one up! XD Her name will be Daisy, She is a greyish color with some white and black spots here and there and she is very friendly but will protect sheep if needed oh and she is also an Australian shepherd)

She was sleeping behind one of the bushes in the fields watching every so often to see what was happening, then she darted up from her sleep as she saw SOH dart out screaming and swearing, she saw the fox and hopped up running around in a big loop to get on the opposite end of the fox so it couldn't excape.

(Would you mind if I jumped in with my fox/dog mix character?) :3


EDIT: (Well..actually, she is just a fox. XD)

SOH was furious, this fox was going to try and take away her purpose in life! these sheep were her life. out of the corner of her eye, SOH saw Daisy, her counterpart taking the only exit from the feild.

"Get out" SOH let go of the helpless animal.

what fox is Soh currently chewing on?

if its mine then Fell's sort of still in his wooded area, he's going to try stealin a sheep a little later on.

"Gladly, if you'd just get off my fur" Fell shoved the dog away with a small growl, he should have known better, but hunger had once again taken over. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the second dog take the only exit.

"perfect, just bloody perfect," he mumbled under his breath before taking a deep one and pelting off. He first made for the exit and then, now grinning madly as only a fox knows how to do, did a sharp turn and headed towards the sheep.

"They always did say two dogs were worse than one fox!" he called back to Soh, tongue hanging out of his mouth. It was all part of the plan...

she's attacking Fell, oh oops. didnt know. umm... what to do... how bout... um... well figure it out.

(I'll join in as my herding dog. She's a girl, a mutt and has reddish fur with silve,r black, and white stripes and icy blue eyes. X3 She is extremely kind, does her job, but does not think badly of foxes and does not hurt them or anything that tries to steal the sheep. There.)

SOH growled at the remark... somehow this fox knew something she did not. she didnt let that stop her though, she charged the creature, smiling devilishly

This certain fox DID know something that the dogs didn't!
"Maybe if they spent more time exploring that slaving for their masters," Fell thought with another grin, "They'd realize there's a back door always open." He slowed to look back at the charging dog, taking another breath of air and speeding away. Through the sheep, he barked and bit at ankles so they scurried -more fun for the dogs later- and as the perfect distraction. He leapt up on a crate, up on the sheep-shelter roof, to the barn roof, and then, as a last act, he slid with apparent ease down the chimney.

Now completely black, he felt like a racoon and began sneaking around in the shadows of the barn, away that soooo close by was a new litter of piglets and his mouth started to salvate just at the smell...

The fox had failed to remember about Daisy, she had gone straight back to the barn and was inside when the fox came in, she let out a long growl with a deep furious bark at the end making all the animals in the barn squeal and scurry away.

Still covered in black, he blended in well and made his way with slight discomfort to the back of the barn, where the pigs were kept. He scooped up a piglet and made his way to the back door, hoping the farmer hadn't closed up the hole again. he held the piglet extremely gently in his teeth, this was also his kidnapping-victim if things went south...

A medium size female herder bounded next to Daisy. She growled at the fellow sheep rounder, making herself clear. "You will not touch that fox." She barked. She had watched the whole scene play out, and she had had about enough.

"that little snich!!!" SOH whirled around to the barn, straight toward the entrance to see daisy there. it sounded like she had cornered the fox. but there was still something about that fox...

Suddenly miss nicey nice ran in and told them to stop.

"Why dont you just go? we have this under control! it's not like were going to torture it or anything!"

Daisy was tired of waiting and she grabbed to foxes tail viciously and yanked until it dropped to piglet and Daisy grabbed it before the fox got a chance to.

She smirked. She was known to be a bit harsh with insults. "Why? Why should I trust you? I mean, herding sheep is a herding dog's life, and they'll do anything to stop something from taking anything from the farm's territory." She growled. She wasn't ever really welcomed in any barn, and she had learned long ago how to handle it.

She barked as Daisy pulled its tail. "See?!"
