| Besides my wolf and dog drawings, I also customize and paint model dogs, mostly Breyers, but some others too. Here's some of what I do: Breyer Beagle(original is on the right), resculpted by my sister, painted by me. Done in pastels and acrylic paints.. A trio of 1:32 scale Foxhounds, produced by a company in England, barely an inch tall! Done in pastels and acrylic paints.. Lefton Dachshund figurine. Done in pastels and acrylic paints.. A pair of Jack Russell Terrier figurines by Hagen Renaker(original is on the right). Also done in pastels and acrylic paints. I tried my hand at a completely original sculpture of a Bearded Collie, out of baked polymer clay, but I goofed up and wound up ruining him. I'll be posting more of my works as they come along! | |

| How you repaint your dogs looks absolutly natural. The patterns aren't drawn so "hard", but smooth with a little gradient for blending the colors.
Did you mean with "resculpted" forming a completly new figurine?

| Thanks guys! I appreciate the comments. In response to what Hunter asked: When I said "resculpted", the term I should have used was "customized". My sister took a dog figurine produced by Breyer Animal Creations, and changed it's position. She cut the head and neck off and then sculpted a new neck in Apoxy Sculpt, fixing the head back on in a new pose. The red and white Beagle with his head up on the right is how the one on the left used to look. He is how Breyer Animal Creations released him. I painted the customized Beagle using ground up pastels, applied with a dry brush, which is how I got the blended colors. I then painted the white areas and fine details(eyes, nose, paw pads) in acrylic paints. The whole area of the dog is sealed several times with fixative and matte sprays. Hope that made sense! | |

Sure do! I do mainly repaint-only on the big guys, though I'm dabbly in repositioning(e.g. lowering heads, moving legs). You can see them at my DA gallery, they have their own sub-gallery. Here's the link: http://tephra76.deviantart.com/gallery/#Model-Horses

| Wow, your customs are jaw dropping. Especially your repaintings. Ive always been to scared to customize a trad. because Im afraid Ill ruin them. How did you learn to repaint so vividly and reposition? | |

| Wow I never thought of redoing the figures like that, but if I tried I would probably totally mess it up and regret it ^^; I love how you paint them, amazing job! | |
